Triple SPG starpoints when you eat at restaurants globally

We recently ran a post highlighting how you could earn airline and hotel points for eating and drinking.

Starwood hotels have just made this even more appealing by offering triple starpoints (Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty points) on all food and drink spend between now and 30 December 2014. You simply need to register for the offer (by 30 November 2014 at the latest), here.

That means you’ll get six starpoints per US $ spent (if you spend in another currency, your starpoints will be calculated based on the effective US $ spend you have made) rather than the standard two.

Participating restaurants are here.

The offer is valid on Mondays to Thursdays (inclusive), and you will need to spend at least US $50 (or the local currency equivalent) to benefit from the triple points (spend less than that and you’ll still get standard points).

If you’re not already a member of SPG, you can join it for free here. You may also get a discount of up to 30% on the SPG restaurant (find out here).

SPG starpoints are great – they often offer good value redemptions at Starwood hotels, and can be transferred to a number of airline programmes.

Bear in mind that (unlike, for example, Hilton) you do not need to be a guest at the hotel in question to benefit from SPG starpoints on food and drink spend.
