Three Michelin starred food – in Economy Class

Andreas Caminada, holder of 19 Gault Millau points and 3 Michelin stars, is setting up a “pop-up restaurant” on Swiss flight LX16 from Zurich to New York JFK on 21 November 2014.

Notably, his food will be served to all passengers, whether in First, Business or Economy. The best way to experience this would, of course, be to get a free flight, and you can enter a competition to do so here.

Failing that, you can still book tickets on the flight at reasonable prices. For example, a return in Economy, coming back on Tuesday 25 November, is CHF 834 (€685).

The cheapest Business Class return on the same dates is CHF 4152 (€3420).

While the Economy Class flight is not extortionately priced, it is worth pointing out that a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to JFK is currently available at €559, so it’s certainly not a cheap flight.

Not exactly budget travel this, I concede, but if you want to try a unique experience, then there may just be some value in that Economy fare.
