1000 free Hilton HHonors points (or Silver Status + Gold fast track) for new members
In association with EVA Air, a Hilton promo has emerged offering 1,000 free points for signing up the the Hilton loyalty programme, HHonors.
Note that you apparently do not actually need to make a stay to get the free points. They will credit to a new account more or less instantly.
This is clearly good news, but it also raises an interesting conundrum. Given the substantial benefits of Hilton Gold status, should you sign up via the above offer and bag the 1000 free HHonors points, or sign up via this offer to get instant free Hilton Silver status, plus a fast-track to Gold?
The answer to this is simple, in my book: have a look at the Gold status fast-track, and if you think it’s achievable, do it. If not, take the points. I’d prefer 1000 bonus HHonors points to free Silver status, frankly. Gold status is excellent, Silver far less so.
