  1. another bait-link from Amex for NEW customers.. what about those of us who have had a BAPP card for years!

    1. From our end, I hope you note that our credit card posts/links are very limited, and included only to flag genuinely good deals on bonus miles/points. If you disagree, by all means let me know.

From the Amex perspective – well, you can cancel the card and get the new customer bonus again should you reapply after 6 months. That’s what I do, regularly. Even if you don’t, long-standing BAPP customers will still get the BA 2 for 1 flight voucher every time they spend £10k yearly, plus the 1.5 or 3 Avios earned on spend, travel insurance etc.

So all in all, far from the worst deal for long-standing customers, and you always have the option of becoming a new customer again, and entitled to the bonus.

Thanks for the feedback though – I genuinely appreciate it (not least when I flag a credit card deal, as it keeps us honest!)

      1. Appreciate the reply and it certainly wasn’t a criticism of you. Just another “deal for the newbies” from Amex. Being a BAPP customer for 11 years, it would damage my customer history to just leave and come back for a ‘deal’, but I take your point 🙂
