The comprehensive and well-run Lufthansa Miles&More frequent flyer programme is hugely undermined by the (sometimes staggeringly) high cost of taxes and fees on reward flights.
However, the good news is that Lufthansa has just made Economy Class reward flights better value, at least until 30 June 2015, thanks to a reduction in surcharges of €18 per flight route (so €36 on a return flight.
For example, the following cash will be saved on a round trip from Frankfurt to Florence: (more…)
One of the most popular areas of the euflyer.com website is our Hilton discount codes section, which details all current promotional codes and special offers available at Hilton hotels globally.
Following a recent change in advertising partner, we have tidied up and fully updated this page to ensure that all existing Hilton promo codes, Hilton discounts and Hilton sales are set out in a straightforward and accessible manner, with direct links to the Hilton discounts wherever possible.
We also include link to some free Hilton HHonors points, and a fast-track to Hilton HHonors Gold status.
There are some good value deals about at the moment. Some of the offers currently featured include: (more…)
The excellent Turkish Airlines is running another incredible promotion on long-haul Business Class flights departing from Oslo, Norway. You can see all the offers below, but the stand-out fares are probably the Business Class returns to Bangkok at 9,698 NOK (€1157), Cape Town at 12,600 NOK (€1504), Mumbai at 9,736 NOK (€1162) and Seoul at 13,500 NOK (€1612).
You can also work a free stopover in Istanbul into the trip (see our review of the Turkish Airlines Business Class lounge in Istanbul here).
You need to book by 15 June 2015, and travel no later than 15 December 2015. Availability is currently very good.
The Business Class offers are (all-in, return): (more…)
It’s Hot Escapes Wednesday again. Every week by 11.00 am GMT on Wednesdays, Starwood Hotels releases its “Hot Escapes” list: a selection of heavily discounted Starwood hotels rates worldwide. You can book up until Saturday, for stays within the next 6 weeks.
Importantly, you get an additional 5% off the already reduced rate if you are a member of SPG, Starwood Hotels’ loyalty programme. Given that this is free to join, everyone can benefit instantly from the additional saving.
The full list of today’s currently discounted SPG Hot Escapes properties is available here. The main focus this week is Asia Pacific, with 18 hotels reduced.
Some highlights include (with additional 5% discount applied):
Until 14 July 2015, British Airways and Iberia are offering up to 4,000 bonus Avios when you take a return flight departing from most British airports.
You need to be a UK resident to qualify, and must register here. Subject to the terms and conditions (below), you will then collect:
- 4,000 bonus Avios on any British Airways-operated long haul service.
- 500 bonus Avios on any British Airways-operated short haul service plus Iberia and Iberia Express services to Madrid, Tenerife North, Las Palmas and Palma de Mallorca.
Ignoring the slightly misleading promotional graphic above, headline sale rates appear to be:

- Europe – up to 50% off
- Middle East and Africa – up to 30% off
More specifically, discount rates by region are: (more…)
IHG PointBreaks are the Intercontinental Hotel Group’s hugely discounted reward nights, that give you nights at selected IHG hotels for just 5,000 IHG Rewards points (they are ordinarily between 10,000 and 50,000 points).
In my view the only offer that comes close to PointsBreaks is the SPG 3,000 point weekend rate for Category 2 properties or, on occasion, Hilton Points & Money bookings. So, the obvious conclusion is – if a PointBreaks stay works for you, snap it up. The new round of PointBreaks applies to 150 hotels globally, and the full list of properties is set out below.
With Business Class fares at near-Economy prices, we have featured Qatar Airways quite a lot of late. Not only is the product often great value, it is also fantastic quality.
The general position with Qatar Airways is that you can often pick up a good deal from the UK, but the best value tends to come from mainland Europe starting points such as Amsterdam and Copenhagen, where Business Class fares have sometimes gone unbelievably low.
The good news is that the UK position has been sweetened a bit more by the arrival of the Qatar Airways promo code A380UK01. If you book a return ticket by 20 June 2015 (link to book here), this promo code will further discount it by up to £100.
IHG Rewards Club PointBreaks offer one of the best value loyalty points deals out there – nights at IHG Group hotels for just 5,000 points per night.
The new PointBreaks list is on its way, and will be published on Tuesday, 26 May (for bookings and stays from 26 May to 31 July, 2015). If you want to see a preview list of some of the hotels that will be featured, just click here.
The final list will include nearly 150 properties, including: (more…)
