Quality central London hotels – from £49 a night

Premier Inn doesn’t get a lot of people excited, and many would not even consider staying there. However, they should think again.

Whenever I have stayed in a Premier Inn, the stay has been excellent. The rooms (and importantly the beds) are comfortable and sufficiently spacious, all required amenities are in there, and the breakfast is impressively varied. Yes they are the ultimate in chain hotels, but you know exactly what you are getting, with rigorous standards. A “hotel snob” friend of mine, a real boutique hotel lover, recently conceded to me he’s had an excellent stay at a Premier Inn.

Premier Inn is also currently having a sale on London properties, and if you take advantage of some of the staggeringly low prices for central London, starting at just £49 a night, you can bag a very good deal. Bear in mind two adults and two children can stay for this price, too!

The properties at County Hall, Waterloo and Fleet Street, for example, all have substantial availability at £49, £59 and £69 a night. While you may have to pay a fair bit more if you’re staying consecutive nights, the average price of your stay should nonetheless be very competitive for what is a very good, albeit cheap London hotel.

Malta travellers can combine this offer with, for example, Air Malta’s 25% off sale or Ryanair’s current batch of ultra-cheap Malta-UK flights, for a bargain long weekend in London.
