Air Malta has just launched a campaign offering 6,000 flights at reduced fares to six destinations.
One way fares, including taxes, are currently available to the following destinations at the stated prices below:
- Milan Linate €60
- London Gatwick €75
- Manchester €80
- Berlin €85
- Vienna €90
- Dusseldorf €80
Flights for this offer can be purchased here and are valid for travel between March and June 2015.
While these are not spectacular prices, there is certainly some value in there: not least bearing in mind Air Malta’s (poolable) 20kgs checked luggage. As such, by all means compare these fares to Ryanair, easyJet etc, but be sure to factor that in.
It’s also well worth comparing BA fares on the Malta-Gatwick route, using BA’s low fare finder. As things stand, bearing in mind the baggage allowance, Air Malta fares tend to be better. BA does have the advantage of offering the “hand luggage only fare”, which may well undercut the Air Malta 20kg option if it suits you.
If you are after a return flight, you will often find that while the return leg is slightly above these sale prices, the price often dips even more on the outward leg to even it out.
After some appalling marketing own goals of late, and an ill-advised “expensive Business Class seats available” advertising campaign on Facebook, it’s good to see a better pitched promotion from Air Malta.
