Maltapoints.com to join BoardingArea.com
Maltapoints is pleased to announce that it will shortly be joining one of the world’s most widely read points and travel websites, BoardingArea.com
This is a very positive development for us and also, we hope, our readers.
More information about BoardingArea, and the implications of our transfer to it, is set out below.
What is BoardingArea?
BoardingArea is basically a collection of some of the leading worldwide points and travel websites.
To give you a better idea of exactly what that entails, here’s a little bit about BoardingArea from its own “about us” page:
BoardingArea was developed by the same people who founded some of the most popular business travel and frequent flyer Web sites on the Internet, including milepoint, FlyerTalk, WebFlyer, FlyerGuide, MileageManager and InsideFlyer.
For more than 25 years, we have been providing news, information and advice for frequent flyers. Our goal has always been to provide frequent travelers with the information they need to make the most of their travel.
Today, millions of people write blogs, hundreds of thousands write travel blogs, and hundreds write blogs focused specifically on subjects of interest to business travelers and frequent flyers. A select few of these are quite good, but your chance of finding them in the ocean of information known as the Internet is about the same as that of being struck by lightning while picking up your lotto check.
Which is where we come in. In our years covering topics of interest to the frequent flyer, we bookmarked the best frequent flyer blogs we stumbled across, and even hosted one of the first blogs in this arena – View From the Wing. Now we’re sharing those bookmarks with you, the always time-crunched traveler, by featuring all of the best frequent flyer blogs, all in one place.
The blogs you will find on BoardingArea are the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the cat’s meow … you get the idea. Each blog in the BoardingArea network has been hand selected by our team for its quality of content, its timeliness, and, last but not least, for its entertainment value.
[Now don’t expect Maltapoints to ever be as happy-clappy American as the above (or indeed ever spell traveller with one “l”) – we’ll retain our healthy brand of Anglo-Maltese cynicism, but hopefully you get the idea.]
How will things change?
Not much really. The website will remain in largely the same format, it will just be better publicised, cheaper to run (for us) and hopefully better able to leverage good value deals etc from relevant third parties. BoardingArea is a big hitter in the frequent flyer world, and we really do believe that the increased credibility of Maltapoints being part of it will allow us to offer our readers even better value on their Malta travel.
The fact that we are now with a website called “BoardingArea” does not mean we will solely focus on deals in the airline sector. While that remains our principal target, we are a website for the Malta frequent traveller, so hotel, dining and indeed any other good deal we think relevant will continue to feature. We will not lose editorial independence and so will continue to give our genuine views, without “advertorials” or undue influence form big corporations. We remain all about highlighting good deals and important information for you, that’s about it.
Maltapoints.com will of course still be accessible via Maltapoints.com, and also through the BoardingArea gateway at BoardingArea.com.
If you have any queries relating to the switchover, feel free to email us at maltapoints@gmail.com, or leave a message below.
Thank you for all your support to date, and please do continue to spread the word about Maltapoints. We do – and will continue to – rely on people sharing knowledge of us by word of mouth. Maltapoints will never be a paid service, so we always hope there is absolutely no downside to you and your friends, family, work colleagues etc accessing our information.
