Return flights from Florida to Europe (Malta) – $611 (€459) all-in
Norwegian Airlines are part of the growing trend of “long-haul budget airlines”. While their prices do not always justify that tag, they do come up with the occasional bargain, as is currently the case.
At the time of writing, they are offering late summer fares between Florida (Fort Lauderdale) and Malta at a very impressive $611 (€459) all-in return. There are also some very competitive fares going in the opposite direction (i.e. Malta to Florida).
The flights are made on the new “fuel efficient” Boeing 787 ‘Dreamliner’, one of the key attractions of which was its ability to enable budget airlines to operate long-haul routes (while retaining budget prices). This is one such example.
Clearly, exact prices will depend on your choice of dates, but here are some sample fares (there is a clear sweet spot, involving the 5 September flight):
Fort Lauderdale-Malta
DEP: 29 Aug/RET: 5 Sep – $611/€459
DEP: 22 Aug/RET: 5 Sep – $638/€478
Malta-Fort Lauderdale
DEP: 29 Aug/RET: 5 Sep – €507
DEP: 22 Aug/RET: 5 Sep – €551
While a lovely destination in itself (here’s our “Ten Reasons To Visit”), it is also very easy to make quick trips from Malta to the beautiful Sicily and other parts of Southern Europe.
