Lufthansa has just released its list of March Mileage Bargains, allowing you to redeem your Lufthansa Miles & More miles for Lufthansa redemption flights in Economy Class and Business Class at half the mileage cost (or almost half, or sometimes better than half).
This post has a full analysis and guide to booking Mileage Bargains. In short, it’s a great opportunity to get good value long-haul Business Class flights with Lufthansa.
It’s a particularly good month, with a wide range of flights available from Europe and the UK. Notably, There is also a fantastic range of flights from the US.

Importantly, with the odd exception, you need to book by 31 March 2015 and fly between 1 and 31 July 2015. Don’t stress too much about booking something before 31 March 2015 however – rest assured a further Mileage Bargains offer will be along when this one finishes.
And don’t forget our guide to booking Mileage Bargains.
Rule number 1 of spending miles is that you will invariably get better value in Business Class. Never is this more apparent than with Lufthansa – so think very seriously about making the most of the Mileage Bargains route when it comes along.
Hi, this Lufthansa seems like a great deal. However, since USAIR left Star Alliance I have no miles with Star Alliance. Two questions: 1. Do any One World partners ever run this type of promotion (specifically, round trip business class to Europe for 55k miles)? 2. Ideas on best way to earn Star Alliance points
It is a great deal. Lufthansa taxes remain high, but if you fly Business Class and get half price on your points, you will often get some serious value.
Re your questions:
1) This is absolutely a Lufthansa promotion. Don’t think of it in terms of Star Alliance, which is essentially irrelevant for this promo (apart from the fact the occasional “Mileage Bargain” flight will be on Austrian).
2) Keeping this to Lufthansa, Miles&More points are not easy to earn. The best way to get a chunk is to get the sign up bonus on a credit card: what’s available to you will depend on where you’re based. You can also collect a handful of Lufthansa Miles&More points via our Free Miles/Points page, too.
Another good option is to transfer points from Starwood Preferred Guest to Lufthansa Miles&More, at a 1:1 ratio, plus you’ll get a 5k bonus when you transfer 20k.
There is no half miles offer 14 before the departure from Africa to Europe? I want to buy a ticket for my friend who lives in Algeria for Warsaw, but your system just don’t apply the rules of half price miles ? What shall I do?
