Malta airport (and elsewhere) – business class lounge access, at a discount

Priority Pass is a “VIP” card that gets you access into certain business class lounges at airports worldwide. From a Malta perspective, the lounge at MLA is included, as are business class lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick (amongst many others).

MaltaPoints has access to a code entitling 20% off the standard costs of Priority Pass.

To get the discount, go to www.prioritypass.com/time and enter in the “invitation code” IAP907UA1. Priority Pass will then display the discounted prices, for your consideration. Make you you enter the discount code again on the form should you actually sign up.

Whether Priority Pass is worthwhile or not largely depends on how often you fly, and whether you see access to free food, drink, internet, newspapers etc as worth paying for.

Costs are as follows:

Standard Membership

Annual Fee: €79 (discounted from €99)

Member Visit Fee: €24

Guest Visit Fee: €24

Standard Plus Membership

Annual Fee: €199 (discounted from €249)

Member Visit Fee: 10 Visits free
then €24

Guest Visit Fee: €24

Prestige Membership

Annual Fee: €319 (discounted from €399)

Member Visit Fee: All visits free

Guest Visit Fee: €24

Given the effective “per visit” costs of both the Standard and Standard Plus membership, my feeling is very much that the only one really worth going for is the Prestige membership, and only then if you are very much a regular at the airport. I probably wouldn’t settle for an effective cost of more than €15 per visit, which means you need to use a lounge around 21 times in the year to make it worthwhile.

MaltaPoints does not make any money from you signing up to Priority Pass, this post is purely to alert you to the discount.
