Intercontinental Malta – further savings on “best available” rate

With thanks to the Headforpoints.com blog, Maltapoints has been alerted to a method that enables you to book the Intercontinental (St Julians) using a (non-flexible) rate designed for friends and families of employees.

The link is here.

A few points about this:

– The savings can often be very good using this rate. For example, a night in a deluxe room in May 2013 goes down from the “best available rate” of €109 to €92.65, while a night in the King Panoramic Club Room goes down from €159 to €135.15.

– You will note that you are deemed to be a friend/family member of “Jennifer Kolshak” when you use this link. It does not matter that you do not know her  (she is the social marketing specialist for Intercontinental) – Intercontinental promoters have actively pushed this link to internet users at large, and you have nothing to be concerned about in using it.

– Stays booked through this link will not earn you Priority Club points (the hotel’s reward scheme). Foregoing points is somewhat counter-intuitive to this website, but the savings you will make using it generally far outweigh the value of any Priority Club points you would earn through a standard booking.

– As ever, Maltapoints’ focus is on Malta, but you’ll probably notice that the link works for Intercontinental Hotel Group’s hotels (Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, InterContinental, Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites) worldwide.
