Emirates resuming Tripoli flights via Malta (and so direct flights to Malta from Dubai)
From 1 September this year, Emirates will be resuming their suspended services to the Libyan capital Tripoli. They will initially restart services via Malta, flying 3xWeekly on Sunday, Tuesday & Thursdays.
Emirates will be using the same triangular route it previously used: i.e. it will fly Dubai-Malta-Tripoli-Dubai. It will be operated by a Boeing 777-200ER, offering three classes of service.
The resumption of this service means Malta is once again provided with a non-stop flight from Dubai, albeit in a single direction only – providing a much shorter journey time on Dubai round trips.
In addition to the above, Malta will continue to be flown to on a daily basis, with non-direct flights going through either Larnaca or Tripoli.
So, a clear benefit to the Maltese traveller:
– On trips to Dubai, your flight from Dubai back to Malta will be non-stop, provided that you travel on a Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday (otherwise you will be routed via Tripoli or Larnaca). The Malta to Dubai leg will always be indirect, unfortunately.
