Two freebies in one – 1000 miles and a €10 duty-free shop voucher

We have previously flagged the 1000 free airberlin topbonus miles you can receive for simply signing up to free membership with Heinemann & Me duty-free. However, go ahead with this sign up and you should also get a €10 voucher to spend in their shops.

We’ve all signed up to the newsletter for the topbonus miles alone, but two of us have now had birthdays since doing so and – entirely unexpectedly – have received a €10 voucher to spend at Heinemann & Me as a birthday gift from them.

We can’t guarantee that everyone will get this voucher, we could have just been lucky. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t sent out to most sign-ups though, and a contact of ours in Australia has also received one, so it does not appear to be limited to EU addresses. In any event, you’ll get the 1000 miles for signing up, wherever you are.

The terms are surprisingly generous:

• Spend must be a minimum of €10
• Not valid on discounted products or special offers
• Not valid on duty-paid tobacco products, beverages in returnable bottles, magazines or books.

You will of course need to visit a Heinemann & Me shop to use the voucher. They have shops in airports in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland and Slovakia. Details here. It’s valid for a year from your birthday, and you’ll need to present your membership card or the Heinemann and Me app on your phone when redeeming.

One point to note is that new members to Heinemann & Me will also get access to a “10% off first spend” voucher in their online account, which you can use online or print and use in-store. Clearly this needs to be used separately to the 10 voucher and will of course be the better option on spends in excess of €100.
