Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles – bonus miles at Hilton and Kempinski

Turkish Airlines’ frequent flyer programme, the remarkably-named Miles and Smiles, has launched two hotel promotions. The first is a bonus 1000 miles for every Hilton stay, the second a bonus 500 miles for every stay at Kempinski hotels.

To get the Hilton Miles and Smiles bonus, you need to first sign up and follow the instructions here. You will then receive 1000 bonus Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles for every stay booked between now and 31 March 2015. A list of the participating hotels is here, and you can book Hilton stays with the benefit of their Best Price Guarantee here.

With the Hilton offer, you will of course earn the 1000 miles in addition to the Turkish Airline Miles and Smiles you will earn on the stay anyway (being 1 mile per US$1 spent on the stay).  This offer is probably not as generous or widely appealing as the current Lufthansa Miles and More “up to quadruple” miles bonus with Hilton – it depends on your circumstances and miles preference. Or indeed whether you would simply prefer to just earn more Hilton points on your Hilton stays. For the record, our general preference it to earn Hilton points only (“points and points”) unless there is a miles-earning bonus, in which case we tend to opt for “points and miles”.

Meanwhile the Kempinski offer will get you 1000 Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles miles, rather than the standard 500. You don’t need to sign up for this as such, it applies to each stay between now and 15 March 2015: you simply need to ensure that you present your Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles membership card at check-in.

As you will see from the promotional picture above, Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles are promoting this Kempinski offer in conjunction with an “up to 35%” sale. That is the current “Winter break” offer, which is bookable until 15 March 2015 and can be accessed here.
