We hope you’ve noticed that things have been a little quiet at euflyer for the last couple of months. There’s good reason for that – we’ve been working hard on bringing InsideFlyer to the UK market.
What is InsideFlyer UK?
In short, it’s a dedicated resource for the UK-focused frequent, or not so frequent, traveller. Whether it’s travel tips, deals, advice, miles & points angles or indeed anything else UK travel-related, we are here to inform and assist you. Plus the site comes complete with a UK-dedicated travel forum: that is pretty much a first.
Use of “airplane”, “deplane” or indeed any other Americanism will result in instant forum suspension*.
As well as dedicated UK articles and forums, we will also be bringing you a variety of targeted deals and travel tools. The InsideFlyer brand has some great connections, and rest assured we will be making the most of them, for your benefit.
Sneak preview? The forums are already up and running – you can sign up, read and contribute here:
We may be part of the InsideFlyer brand, but we of course are, and will remain, a UK-focused resource. It’s our absolute reason for existing.
*Ah no it won’t, but we really will be working hard to ensure the forum remains at all times relevant to the UK market, wide a net as this may be at times.
You may have noticed (at least we hope you have…) that euflyer.com has not posted for a little while. There’s a reason for that: some big changes are coming.
We are aiming to rebrand and relaunch later this year, and will keep you fully informed of developments. Needless to say, we are aiming for the new website to be as useful a resource as it possibly can be for the European traveller, and are very excited about the developments.
In the meantime, are you interested in joining us..? (more…)
Iberia has launched a “flash sale” promo code for flights from the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Italy to Latin America and Spain.
To benefit from the discount, you need to book your flight today or tomorrow (so 16 or 17 June, 2015) and depart before 17 July. The discount code only applies to return flights, operated by Iberia, Iberia Express and Air Nostrum.
The promo codes are as follows: (more…)
Note that if the “4 night for the price of 3” doesn’t work for you in midweek, you will still benefit from a 13% discount. (more…)
A quick reminder that a very easy way to earn 1,000 free American Airlines miles ends at 12:00pm CST on June 12 (i.e. tomorrow). As such, today is your last full day to enter.
In short, this link will take you to the American Airlines “AAdvantage University”, where you will be given the opportunity to watch six videos. You don’t need to bother – just skip to the end of them, get the question asked right or wrong, and you will earn a total of 1,000 AAdvantage points. (more…)
Every Wednesday, by 11.00 am GMT, Starwood Hotels releases its “Hot Escapes” list: a selection of heavily discounted Starwood hotels rates worldwide. You can book up until Saturday, for stays within the next 6 weeks.
Importantly, you get an additional 5% off the already reduced rate if you are a member of SPG, Starwood Hotels’ loyalty programme. Given that this is free to join, everyone can benefit instantly from the additional saving.
The full list of today’s currently discounted SPG Hot Escapes properties is available here. It’s a fairly low-key offering this week, with the main focus North America, where 14 hotels are discounted. That said, there are also some heavy discounts in Thailand.
Some highlights include (with additional 5% discount applied):
Swiss Airlines are currently offering Business Class returns from London to Geneva at Economy Class prices. That puts flights from Heathrow at £123 return, and London City from £131 return in Business Class.
You need to book by 12 June, and travel by 30 September 2015. The booking needs to be made as a Business Class booking, rather than Economy Class, and the discount will be applied automatically – there is no need for a discount code or similar.
As well as lounge access, on-board champagne and more space, you will also be permitted two pieces of checked baggage (2 x 32kg) and two pieces of carry-on baggage. (more…)
In terms of the pure mileage cost, we really have yet to see reward flights cheaper than those available through airberlin’s Topbonus Topdeals. The obvious warning here is the tax also applied, but there are still some good value deals available.
They’re the airline equivalent of IHG hotels’ acclaimed 5000 point PointBreaks. Like PointBreaks, topbonus topdeals appear at intervals, and they are available as of today.
Standout redemption options include (one way, availability in both directions): (more…)
Car rental provider Sixt and airberlin have teamed up (once again) to offer 1,000 free topbonus miles to anyone who registers with Sixt in June 2015, via this link.
Having successfully received these 1000 free topbonus miles in the past myself, it’s well worth spending the 10 seconds it takes to secure them.
As a related aside, airberlin is very soon set to release the latest round of topbonus “Topdeals” – where redemption flights with airberlin become available for as little as 2000 topbonus miles. We will post separately on this.
