Points and discount at Quadro restaurant – a success story

In amongst all the offers we flag, it’s nice to report back occasionally when these go particularly well.

This week, my wife and I went for a meal at Quadro restaurant, at the Westin Dragonara, and sought to take advantage of the SPG benefits flagged here when dining.

Not only was it a very good quality restaurant, with excellent service, but:

  • On mentioning my SPG membership, the free glass of wine was given by the manager without question. In fact my wife was even given a free soft drink as an alternative, which was not expected.
  • SPG points were awarded.
  • A 10% discount was given, even though we went for the set menu at €35 a head (I was concerned they would see this as a “promotion” that could not be combined with the 10% discount).

There is some real value in the daily €35 set menu at Quadro, which changes by the day and can be found in full here. Add to that the free glass of wine per diner, 10% discount and SPG points if you are an SPG member (membership is free, and open to all, of course), and this really is worth doing.

Please remember that Maltapoints is an independent website – we do not benefit in any way from you joining SPG or dining at Quadro, but we do like to report on quality and value when we see it!

  1. Happy to say that SPG members are still treated very well at Quadro. We booked our 12th anniversary dinner there on Sunday night and were treated with a glass of prosecco (each) as well as the 10% off and points (which are now batched up on a monthly basis, so don’t expect to see them immediately).

Note that the points are based on a pre-tax rate, so don’t be surprised if your starpoints haul is slightly lower than expected.

It was our first time at Quadro, although we are semi-regular visitors to ORVM. We enjoyed the experience. It had good food with very good service. Lots of nice extra touches.
