British Airways Holidays – well worth a look
As you should by now be aware, British Airways will fly from London to Malta from the end of March.
In addition to BA flights, this also gives the Malta traveller a reason to access BA holidays. Simply put, BA holidays combines the price of its flights with a deal on your hotel, and gives you a substantial package discount as a result.
Prices in May 2014, for example, start at just £228 per person for flights and 7 night’s accommodation.
It’s extremely difficult to highlight where, specifically, BA Holidays will give you good value: it will depend very much on your travel timing and choice of hotel. However, we do recommend you include it in your holiday research (we assume you do “research” your holiday bookings – or is that just us?), as you may well be able to get a very good deal on trips to Malta.
By way of example only, the following prices (per person) for flights plus seven nights accommodation are available in May 2014:
- Pergola Club hotel at £228 (room only)
- San Antonio hotel at £290 (B&B)
- Kempinski Gozo at £436 (B&B)
- Intercontinental Malta at £453 (room only)
Don’t forget that you also earn Avios on British Airways bookings. 20,000 Avios + £35 is enough for a return flight to Malta.
This is very interesting. Do you mind if I ask a question? I am planning my first family holiday this summer and am considering Malta as the destination. If you were picking a child friendly hotel (I was considering the Westin and the Intercontinental) which would you pick?
I thoroughly recommend the Westin and the Hilton for children. It’s been a while since I stayed in the Westin, but I was very recently in the Hilton with my (very young) children, and they were brilliant with them. Both hotels have a lot of facilities for young children, too.
The Intercontinental is not quite up there on child friendliness, particularly if your kids are very young. However, it is right next to the cinema, if that’s helpful.
Thank you very much! Children are 6 and 9.
