Double Hilton HHonors points (or miles) on hotel stays
Hilton has just launched registration for its Q2 2015 promotion. It’s simple but worthwhile: you will either earn double Hilton HHonors points or airline miles on stays from 1 March to 31 May 2015 – you can choose which.
To be clear, Hilton ordinarily lets you “double dip” on your points earning: you can either earn Hilton points (and more Hilton points), or Hilton points and airline miles. The “doubling up” for this promo will therefore work as follows:
Points and points: You ordinarily earn earn 10 base points, plus an additional 5 bonus points per eligible US dollar spent. Under the promotion, you will earn 20 base points plus an additional 5 bonus points per US dollar.
Points and miles: You ordinarily earn 10 Base Points, plus 1 mile per eligible US dollar spent (although some airlines offer more miles). Under the promotion, you will earn 10 base points plus an additional 2 (or more) miles per US dollar.
(Base points are halved at Home2Suites)
Given the relative earning rates, unless you are desperate to top up a mileage account, I would go for the double points offer.
You can book all your Hilton stays with the benefit of Hilton’s “Best Rate Guarantee”, here.
The major caveat to this promotion is there is a hefty list of hotels (principally in the United States) who have chosen not to participate.
Do not forget that these points offers can be combined with Hilton’s various Promo Codes. We set out the full list of current Hilton Promo Codes (plus an easy and free way to get upgraded to Silver and Gold Hilton status) on our dedicated page, here.
