And now direct flights to Comiso – from Malta
Yesterday we wrote about the new Ryanair option from the UK/Rome/Charleroi to Comiso in Sicily, on Malta’s doorstep (and a few minutes drive from the Virtu ferries terminal).
To add to this, and following some research by the Maltapoints team, it does appear that there are also direct flights available from Malta to Comiso.
A new airline has recently been set up, administered in Malta by the “Travel-Malta” Group of companies, called “Aerosud Fly Airways” and they are chartering Medavia’s (50 seat) Bombardier Dash8-Q300 to fly from Comiso to Malta (and, possibly, Lampedusa).
Flights actually started in July 2013, but were suspended after a few flights, seemingly due to low passenger numbers (and possibly high fees at Comiso airport). However, Aerosud have said that they will restart operations in September.
The proposed schedule for September is as follows:
Malta – Comiso
