Virtu Ferries – impressive September offer on Sicily trips
Virtu Ferries’ prices have – deservedly – taken a fair bit of stick on Maltapoints. Virtu Ferries is basically a monopoly on the passenger sea route between Malta and Italy, and its prices generally reflect that.
However, they have just announced substantial reductions for September, including reductions on car prices, with great availability. The offer is very straightforward:
- Adult return tickets (day trip or otherwise) are now €79
- Cars return tickets are now €79 (day trip) or otherwise €99
Given that adult return prices are normally €141 each, and cars €144, this is a saving of €169 on a weekend trip for 2 adults with one car (€257 instead of €426).
Impressively, at the time of writing, these rates appears to apply to all September journeys except for the day trip on 21 September.
Much like Malta, September is a great time to be in Sicily – the weather’s still hot but crowds and prices are down.
