Easyjet and Ryanair sale – cheap Autumn flights to London
Easyjet and Ryanair have both announced Autumn/Winter sales.
While the Easyjet focus is on Spanish and Portuguese destinations from the UK, the good news for the Malta traveller is that they have also reduced a vast number of November and December flights between Malta and London Gatwick to between €50 and €60, all in.
Ryanair meanwhile have commenced an October to December sale, with no tax charged, and added discounts of around 12-15% on their already competitive Stansted and Luton fares, bringing some one-way fares to as low as €36.
In practice, that means long weekend flights to/from L0ndon can be bagged at the following prices:
- Fri 22 Nov to Mon 25 Nov: €110 (Easyjet)
- Fri 22 Nov to Mon 25 Nov: €81 (Ryanair to Luton)
- Sat 23 Nov to Tue 26 Nov: €77 (Ryanair to Stansted)
- Fri 29 Nov to Mon 2 Dec: €109 (Easyjet)
- Fri 29 Nov to Mon 2 Dec: €95 (Ryanair to Luton)
- Sat 30 Nov to Tue 3 Dec: €82.50 (Ryanair to Stansted)
- Sat 7 Dec to Tue 10 Dec: €80 (Ryanair to Stansted)
So, if you need to do some early Christmas shopping, or just fancy being cold for a while, now is a good time to book.
Standard budget airline warnings apply: don’t forget to price in all the extras you will need – and don’t exceed baggage limits, forget to print out boarding passes etc.
Easyjet’s Gatwick is of course a far more convenient destination for most people than the Ryanair alternatives of Luton or Stansted, and there is little doubt that the overall “Easyjet experience” is infinitely better than that of Ryanair (i.e. they treat you like a human being).
For the UK based readers of Maltapoints, these prices generally also work in the opposite direction, too.
Don’t forget, of course, that you can also earn Nectar points on Easyjet flights.
