Air Malta to fly to Venice
Maltapoints has just received news that Air Malta is starting flights to Venice this summer, starting on 2 June 2014.
We have looked at prices for the first couple of weeks and, as things stand, it looks very good value – with the lowest one way at around €54.
You of course need to compare these prices with Ryanair, when booking, but bear in mind some key points:
- Air Malta will fly to the local Venice Marco Polo airport, as opposed to Treviso around 20 KM away.
- Baggage charges on Ryanair are not cheap, and they are jacked up during summer.
- You of course avoid the less-than-wonderful Ryanair customer experience.
In their defence, Ryanair have recently – seemingly – taken on board some of the justified criticism about treating their customers as “the enemy”, but it is always nice to have an alternative.
