Shangri-La hotels – 10 loyalty points for US$1 food discount, with no minimum spend
One of the most frustrating elements to travel loyalty reward programmes can be the thresholds required to actually make any use of your points.
Shangri-La has addressed this with their Golden Circle loyalty programme, by introducing “Instant Dining Awards”. In short, every 10 Golden Circle points you have can now be instantly redeemed for US$1 off your food and drink bill. You just need to present your GC card with the bill, and they’ll make the deduction.
Given that to date, 500 points were required for a $50 food and drink voucher, this is a great way to spend small points balances at Shangri-La, at the same points per dollar ratio.
