UK to India Premium Economy Bargains – with BA

BA is currently offering some excellent value on Premium Economy flights from London Heathrow to India (Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore).

british airways premium economy

You can fly to Hyderabad for £683 Chennai for £692 and Bangalore for £707 all-in return. In the case of Hyderabad and Chennai, you need to book by 26 February, and travel by 16 June 2015.

To put the value of these prices into context, the cheapest available standard Economy return flights to these destinations are as follows:

  • Hyderabad £484 (so just £199 more)
  • Chennai £507 (so just £185 more)
  • Bangalore £499 (so just £208 more)

Bearing in mind not only the added comfort, but the additional Avios (and BA Tier Points) earned on the flights, I would strongly recommend the small additional outlay for these tickets.

Slightly further afield, there’s also some reasonable value on Far Eastern Premium Economy options from Heathrow, although these don’t offer the outstanding value of the India flights:

  • Seoul £898
  • Kuala Lumpur £977
  • Hong Kong £982
  • Bangkok £1130

(KUL/BKK book by 23 Feb 2015. HKG book by 24 Feb 2015. SEL book by 28 Feb 2015
HKG travel until 31 May 2015. SEL travel until 21 Jun 2015. BKK travel until 24 Jun 2015. KUL travel until 30 Sep 2015).

And it doesn’t quite end there. Miles From Blighty has alerted us to some great value BA Business Class fares out of London City, as follows:

  • Dublin from £199 return
  • Amsterdam from £199 return
  • Dusseldorf from £199 return
  • Angers from £203 return
  • Quimper from £205 return
  • Zurich from £220 return
  • Granada from £229 return

Finally, don’t forget that BA is also offering some very good value long-haul Business Class options from Europe

  1. I flew on the Chennai route yesterday. The flight was practically empty – I had all three middle rows of a 787 in WT+ to myself, and 4 x rows of empty double seats too. Economy was also empty..!

    No wonder the cheap fares!
