BA is currently offering some excellent value on Premium Economy flights from London Heathrow to India (Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore).
You can fly to Hyderabad for £683 Chennai for £692 and Bangalore for £707 all-in return. In the case of Hyderabad and Chennai, you need to book by 26 February, and travel by 16 June 2015.
British Airways currently has some very good value Business Class fares available from various European cities, including Amsterdam, Brussels and Dublin.
Iberia Express, the short-haul sister company of Iberia (and of course BA and Vueling) has launched a number of new European routes. As an introductory deal, it is offering 25% off the number of Avios required on these routes if you book by 26 February, and travel between 29 March and 15 July 2015.
The new (and therefore discounted) routes are as follows:
If you are a serious value traveller, Topcashback is well worth a look – it offers straightforward cashback on a number of hotel and flight options, and is absolutely the first port of call for any flight or hotel booking we make.
Crucially, there is no inflated rate with Topcashback. When you click through, you go directly to the relevant merchant’s website and pay the normal rates, but earn cashback on them. Plus, from time to time it offers a generous sign up bonus, such as now. Sign up via this link before 16 February 2015, and not only will you earn cashback on all your purchases through Topcashback, you will also get 500 free Tesco Clubcard points when your cashback earnings hit £10.
While you can of course use these points as you like, it’s worth pointing out that you can convert Tesco Clubcard points to Avios at a rate of 600 Avios per £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers.
You won’t get a detailed analysis of the recent, very complex, changes to the British Airways Executive Club loyalty programme which will apply from 28 April 2015. It’s not what we do, and enough alternative sources have covered it in substantial detail already.
However, we have looked at the changes in detail ourselves, and we think it would be remiss of us not to briefly cover this “restructuring”. Sadly, the overriding feeling from us (and the consensus from very well-informed commentators), is that the changes are generally negative for BA flyers. To enable you to make an informed view yourself, we set out a bullet point summary below, and then link to various “further reading” options. (more…)
In May 2014, Italian airline Meridiana changed its frequent flyer currency to Avios. To celebrate this, it has teamed up with BA Executive Club (currency obviously also Avios) to offer two simultaneous bonus Avios promotions.
The promotions run until 31 March 2015. First, if you are a member of the Meridiana Club (join for free, here) you will earn double Avios on all British Airways flights that you credit to your Meridiana Club account. Second, if you are a member of the BA Executive Club (join for free, here) you will earn double Avios on all Meridiana flights that you credit to your BA Executive Club account. (more…)
Frequent traveller programme Avios has just launched a half price sale on Avios point redemptions on BA flights from London Gatwick.
As such, you can currently fly BA return to Antigua, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Orlando and Tampa for 25,000 Avios (was 50,000), and Mauritius for 30,000 Avios (was 60,000), plus fees and taxes.

It currently offers 7 partners: AirAsia*, American, BA, Cathay, Jet Airways, Thai and US Airways, and plans to add a number of new options soon, with over 20 additional airline programmes apparently lined up to join in 2015. Perhaps most importantly, it has a number of very appealing sign-up bonuses available until 31 January 2015, as follows: (more…)
Walking through Gatwick airport this Christmas, I was struck by how heavily British Airways was advertising its £39 “hand luggage only” fare from London to various European destinations.
As a result, with 2015 almost upon us, I thought it worthwhile listing which routes the £39 (or less, or slightly more) fare is available on, and also in which months in 2015. We hope this provides a helpful guide to some of BA’s bargain fares for 2015.
The results are as follows: (more…)
British carrier Flybe and loyalty programme Avios recently announced that you can now earn Avios points on Flybe flights.
Flybe have an extended European network, which includes flights to the rugged Outer Hebridean island of Barra, in Scotland.
You can currently fly to Barra from Glasgow, starting at £80 return for the 1 hour 10 minute each way flight. Not particularly remarkable, I hear you say. Perhaps not, but do bear in mind that you will be landing on a beach. (more…)
