To celebrate the launch of daily flights from Edinburgh, Etihad has launched a sale on Economy and Business Class flights from this UK starting point.
The discounted prices are impressive, in particular in Business Class, and are as follows: (more…)
Today (3 June 2015) is your last chance to book flights in the Etihad UK Early Summer sale.
While a lot of noise has been made about Qatar Airways’ hugely discounted Business Class fares, particularly from mainland Europe, this is a great opportunity to buy some very good value Business Class flights – with the option of leaving from London, Edinburgh or Manchester.
The flight window is fairly tight at 1 July to 14 July, but if you are after a great value July break, this is worth a look.
The deals from London Heathrow are as follows: (more…)
Etihad Airways has just launched a 96-hour “Early Bird Sale” on flights from the UK (London, Edinburgh and Manchester) and certain European destinations, offering substantial discounts in both Economy and Business Class.
Some of the prices are very competitive, with long-haul Business Class starting at £1409 from the UK, and €1478 from Europe. As the sale name suggests, you need to book a few months in advance: it applies to travel between 14 September, 2015 and 29 February, 2016.
Helpfully, Etihad have also confirmed that these sale prices will work in conjunction with their concurrent offer of quadruple miles in Business Class, and triple miles in Economy Class.
You need to be quick. The sale booking window ends on 21 May, 2015. Some standout prices from London Heathrow are as follows (all-in, return): (more…)
Starwood Hotels and Etihad Airways are currently offering a bonus haul of miles with Etihad’s frequent flyer scheme, Etihad Guest, when you stay at Starwood hotels.
Those Etihad Guest members with their Starwood earning preference set to Etihad Guest miles will currently earn double miles on standard rooms, triple miles on club rooms and 3,000 miles on suites.
As such, outside of the 3,000 flat award for suites, SPG preferred members will earn 4 (double) or 6 (triple) Etihad Guest Miles per eligible US dollar 1 spent and Elite Gold and Platinum members earn 5 (double) or 7 (triple) Etihad Guest Miles per eligible US dollar spent. (more…)
Travel forum Flyertalk recently reported the appearance of an Etihad Airways discount code, offering a huge 30% off flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I was initially a touch sceptical, but some test bookings have confirmed this code is totally legitimate.
What’s more, since I started playing around with the promo code, it has appeared as a banner advert on my computer, so it is clearly intended for public use.
To benefit from this substantial discount, you need to book here and use Etihad promo code flytues11 for Tuesday, and flywed01 for Wednesday. It is not currently clear when the promo code expires.
Reports on the flyertalk thread on this seem to indicate it is working well in all classes, and our test bookings certainly seemed to back that up. As you can see, it is quite clearly applying to this booking from Manchester (UK) to Abu Dhabi: (more…)
Book a flight with Etihad Airways by 4 June 2015, and you will currently earn bonus miles with its frequent flyer scheme: quadruple Etihad Guest miles in First Class and Business Class, and triple miles in Economy.
To earn the bonus miles, you will first also need to register for the offer here before 4 June. While you need to register and book by this date, the offer then applies to any flight taken up to 29 February 2016.
The bonus miles will be offered on Etihad Airways operated flights, and codeshare flights operated by Etihad Airways Partners.
The full terms and conditions, including travel blackout dates, are available here.
Etihad Airways is currently offering a 25% bonus on conversion of various partner points to Etihad Guest miles, including transfers from Membership Rewards, HSBC Premier points, Hilton HHonors, Hyatt Gold Passport, Club Carlson and IHG Rewards Club
While the American Express Membership Rewards terms single out certain countries, it seems that this is an (inaccurate) reference to those countries in which you can transfer from Amex to Etihad Guest, rather than those countries that will benefit from the 25% bonus. I am Malta-based, and can certainly transfer from my Malta Amex to Etihad Guest: I believe I will also qualify for the 25% bonus.
Otherwise, it seems that with the exception of the HSBC Premier points (UK only), all the other points schemes mentioned above will get the 25% bonus, regardless of where you are based.
The bonus applies to transfers made before 6 June 2015. (more…)
A gentle reminder that today, 4 May 2015, is your last opportunity to take advantage of some excellent Qatar Airways Business Class fares from Amsterdam to the Far East, Middle East and India.
It’s also yet another example of the increasing benefit to value-seeking travellers of keeping a sharp eye on Business Class sale fares (not least from the big Middle Eastern carriers), rather than assuming that all the value is to be found in making good use of frequent traveller miles.
If you like these prices, but don’t want to book your flight today, there are also other options…
We are a big fan of of Holidaycheck.com, the Tripadvisor alternative. It’s long been a great way to earn a handful of airline miles in various schemes for simply writing a very brief hotel review.
They are also currently offering a bonus. Write hotel reviews and credit your points to Etihad Guest, and you will earn 200 miles per review (rather than the standard 150) until 25 May 2015.
You can also earn miles, at the below rates, with the following frequent flyer scheme: (more…)
We have two new airline sales/discount codes today, plus a reminder of a very useful discount code that expires at the end of the month. After some confusion earlier on in the week, the Emirates discount code position is now clear.
Book by 28 April, and the discount code GEMCARD will get you up to 15% off flights departing from the Middle East* (if you pay with a Mastercard issued in the Middle East), while perhaps more relevantly, UKVOUCH will get you 5% off all Emirates flights (in all classes) departing from the UK, until 31 May.
