Iceland-based WOW Air recently made a stir by offering some short-lived $99 fares. However, some fares are almost back at these levels. WOW’s pricing is incredibly dynamic and, at the time of writing, it is offering one-way fares between Boston and Iceland (KEF) at a very impressive $119.
While you will need to be flexible with your dates, that puts all-in return fares as low as $298. They may be a budget carrier, but both the $119 one way and $298 return fares are exceptional value.
The $119 fare is currently available on 14/21/28 April, and 5/12/19/26 May.
With flights back from Iceland starting at $179, as noted above, that prices a US-Iceland flight at as little as $298 return:
These are of course flights to Iceland: a fantastic destination, but not necessarily for everyone.
If you want to head to London, Rome or Paris, you’re going to have to pay more and fly more (WOW themselves fly on to various other European destinations, but prices obviously rise accordingly). That said, Iceland is a great holiday destination for a variety of reasons, and if Boston airport is convenient for you, then I would thoroughly recommend taking the $298 return fare.
What is WOW like?
I have never flown with them, so I can’t really comment. Here are WOW’s “promises” to you, however.
In short, I’d expect the full low-frills experience, but I wouldn’t hesitate to book at these prices if the dates suited me.
